Haus zur Stickerei

In the 19th century, textile production was of great importance to the region and many new manufacturers' houses were built.
The Haus zur Stickerei was built in 1820. It is a typical Appenzell manufacturer's house and a listed building. The couple Bänziger Kern realised that this old manufacturer's house had an inviting soul and carefully restored it. In 2011, the House of Embroidery opened its doors to guests for the first time, offering food and drink. Since then, business and private parties have been held here on a regular basis. The Stickerei can accommodate up to 55 people. For groups of 20 or more, catering is provided, and the Haus zur Stickerei can arrange music, decorations and invitations on request.
